Byron Holland is the President and CEO of CIRA Canadian Internet Registry Authority, a not-for-profit organization that is responsible for the dot-ca domain registry and internet security for Canada. Byron has an entrepreneurial spirit and held the Chief Operating Position for companies such as Futura Rewards and Kidsfutures Inc. He attended Harvard Business School and has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University.
Byron joins me today to share the role that CIRA plays in internet cybersecurity for Canada and Canadian businesses. He highlights the scope of cybercriminals and reveals the level of security that corporations need to employ to protect against cyber attacks. He also shares examples of phishing and spear phishing attacks and stresses the importance of training members of the workforce to be ready to recognize and defend against cybercriminals.
