Elizabeth Kilvert is the owner of The Unrefined Olive, an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting bar. She graduated with a degree in International Development Studies at Dalhousie University has worked in many different countries and continents focusing on agricultural microgrants before returning to Dalhousie to study Marine Biology. After working as a Senior Education Advisor for Environment Canada, Elizabeth pivoted from public education into opening her first Unrefined Olive store in Ottowa.
Elizabeth joins me today to discuss how she started and manages her business and how she pivoted from public service into entrepreneurship. She shares the struggles and challenges she faced to open up her shop and the importance of working with other people. She emphasizes the role of mental health for business leaders. She also shares the power of women entrepreneurs in lifting one another and how mentorship and guidance from others can impact the success of your business.
