Marlene Shepherd is the president, founder, and lead fashion consultant of Shepherd’s Fashions, a company dedicated to helping customers find the right looks. She received the Youville Angel Award in 2012 for her support and advocacy for young mothers and giving back to the community. Marlene studied Radio and Television in Algonquin College, Ottawa and worked for the Canadian Contemporary News. After studying French in Europe, Marlene opened the first Shepherd’s Fashions store in Ottawa and has been growing the business for over 40 years.

Marlene joins me today to share how she began as an entrepreneur and fashion consultant. She reveals how she expanded her fashion empire over the years, the challenges she faced, and how she overcame them. She discusses the inspiration behind her company’s philosophy of educating people on how to dress and accessorize. Marlene also explains why entrepreneurs should give back to the community and why this advocacy matters to her.
