Cybersecurity: It affects you, too!

The world is changing quickly, and the scaling and adoption of technology means that it plays an even more significant role in our lives. With more interactions taking place online and people's data being shared or stored in many ways, the risk of cybercrime continues to grow. From every interaction, be that buying an online product or service or reading emails, a threat of cybercrime exists.

 

Today I share how cybersecurity affects you. I highlight how technology plays a part in almost everyone's lives on a moment-by-moment basis and reveal how the risk of cybercrime is growing, from privacy breaches to fraud or intellectual property theft. I share how people and organizations are prone to phishing, having their email hacked, having fraudulent charges applied to credit cards, or being attacked by ransomware. I also share how businesses that were once ‘brick and mortar’ now exist as a virtual presence, increasing the chances of their - or their customer's - data being compromised.
