Chris Stanton is a serial entrepreneur and Chief Investment Officer of Sunrise Capital Partners and has founded, built, and sold two tech consulting companies. Prior to joining Sunrise, Chris was the Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Deerhurst Capital Management and the Capital Markets Officer for JP Morgan. Chris has been part of the Young Presidents’ Organization for over 12 years and previously served as Chapter Chair. He holds a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude degree from Northwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Applied Science from Lehigh University.

Chris joins me today to discuss his experience as a business owner and how he started his own tech consultancy company, Capital Technology Partners. He shares the biggest mistake he made in his career as a business owner and what he learned from it. He illustrates how he pivoted Capital Technology Partners and how that led to a business exit. He also explains why he encourages kids to learn computer science and highlights how the evolution of computing creates - and destroys - wealth.

“When you’ve come to a point where you’d rather fail than not have tried a business idea, do it while you’re young. If you fail, you’ll have some time to recover.” - Chris Stanton
