Paul Vallée is the founder and CEO of Tehama, an organization that provides secure virtual desktops, enabling businesses to manage a global workforce. In 1997, Paul founded Pythian as a data-centric professional services business with a focus on remote working. Under Paul’s watch, Pythian innovated pioneering technology that allowed global workforces to connect to enterprise IT systems. Tehama, born from Pythian, launched in 2018 to secure the services supply chain of global enterprises. Paul is the recipient of several accolades, and in 2016 was named Diversity Champion by Canada’s Women in Communications and Technology.
Paul joins me today to share his experiences with founding Pythian at the dawn of the data center movement and remote working. He illustrates how he started as an entrepreneur and explains why you should start a company while doing an undergraduate degree. He describes Pythian’s business growth and expansion and shares how they conceived Tehama in response to IT security concerns. He also discusses why they decided to spin-off Tehama as well as shares his advice to his fellow entrepreneurs.
“Think about the importance of timing the market properly or having the capital you need to persist until the market catches up to you.” - Paul Vallée
